A Quick Hello

Hi Guys,

We arrived in Beijing about an hour ago and we are all exhausted from the trip. Maya's first plane ride was a great success !! The city of Nanchang was amazing and we were both sad to have to leave. That said, Beijing does have Starbucks !!
The weather here is all over the map - it was 22 degrees (celsius) in Nanchang and now it's about 2 degrees in Beijing. Great weather for getting a cold and I have one developing as I write. So far, Paul and Maya are o.k. Lack of sleep, stress and not eating well will do it every time. Paul is trying to put Maya down for the night, and it's not going well - ahhhh... the joys of fatherhood!

Hinson, the hotel's food tastes like a bad Denny's ! Our first night in Beijing, we went out as a small group to find some 'good Chinese food'. We went into a small restaurant which had a disclaimer on its menus 'food may not be as advertised on menu.' The pictures were of various types of 'meat', the waiter did not speak English and we left very quickly.

We have had some very good regional cuisine in Nanchang, and I had my best meal so far in the small town of Heng Feng. Yes, ladies I actually made it to Maya's hometown. I'll write about that journey tomorrow. ( I hope ! We're sorry that it's taking so long to post. We had thought it would be easy - baby to bed by 8:30, fire up the computer and away we go... Unfortunately, baby doesn't seem to have bought into the game plan.

We'll talk tomorrow, when hopefully I'll be able to string two coherent sentences together ! Sleep is good !!!!!
