All is quiet, after the storm

This has been a very rough weekend - lots of tears, beautiful flowers from my husband, but very rough. But then, the funny thing about cliches is that they are usually true. The sun really does 'come up again tomorrow', 'Things happen for a reason', 'You will get the child who is meant for you'.... We sure hope so, 'cause if we get the child who's meant for someone else, we can't send them back !!

We have received many emails from our fellow group members, and have seen the photos of the children referred to them. They are over-the-moon with joy with their new babies, and they should be - they've earned this little piece of happiness. Many of these families have come to the process of adoption after periods of great pain, and in some cases great loss. Some have experienced failed fertility treatments, some - failed marriages, but for most, the adoption journey is not an easy one.

I spoke to our agency this morning and have been told that no, our file has not been lost - it's just somehow taken a detour - and hopefully, we will receive a referral soon. 'From your lips to God's ears, mam' - that's all I can say.

Oh Angela - I can't even imagine what you and Paul are going through. We're thinking about you a lot and really praying that your referral comes quickly. We so badly want you to experience the joy that we all are experiencing - and we know you will . . . hopefully sooner than later. Hang in there and keep us posted.

The file is alive and active - yes, that's a good thing. You can't imagine how many times I have had to resist calling. You know how much I have wanted to leap through cyber space or the telephone line and hug you guys. Maya, as amazing as you are, you need to know that your parents are awesome! We await your arrival with love.
