Thank-You So Very, Very Much !!!!

It's official - Paul completed his last day at his office today ! Tomorrow, February 1st, will mark the first day of his paternity leave. We are both so fortunate to be able to stay at home with Maya when we return to Canada. We are also thankful for the flexibilty which his office has provided to our family throughout the adoption process.

The photo is of the beautiful gifts which Paul received this afternoon at his office party. We were both deeply touched by the gifts and the well-wishes offered to us by Paul's co-workers. Their generosity and thoughtfulness were deeply appreciated !
Thank-you !!

We also want to take this opportunity to thank all of our family and friends who are following us on this journey. A special thank-you to Ruth and Alf, and to their daughter Janet, for their friendship, kind words of reassurance and thoughful gestures. You are kindred spirits indeed - and we thank you !!

We know we are not making this journey alone, and we sincerely hope that each of you will follow us on our journey. We will endeavour to post daily, but on occasion, there may be a few computer snaffoos to deal with. (Also, I've been told that Blogger is in Chinese, in China - imagine that !!) We will look forward to reading your comments - don't be shy !! Click on the 'comments' section beneath the post. If you don't have a google account, simply post under 'anonymous' and include your name in the body of the comment.

From both of our hearts - we thank you.

Warmest regards,

Paul & Angela

God bless you Paul and Angela. May China delight and awe you. Savour the moment you hold Maya in your arms for the first time as it will stay with you forever. Take time to celebrate your beautiful marriage and relationship as it takes a very special couple to live this uniquely rich experience. Remember the love and support that awaits you at home. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. We love you.

Hi Guys! By now you will winging your way China and the wonderful new experience of parenthood. I told the girls at the office that today is departure day, and one of them - a young lawyer named Sandra - pulled me into her office. "I have to show you this" she said excitedly, and she pulled up a blog for a couple of her friends in Nova Scotia who have just received their baby from China - thru the same agency as you guys. Everything had gone very well, she said, and the pictures showed a beautiful little girl about 1 year old, and all smiles with her new parents. I didn't have time to show her your blog because Dad was outside waiting & double parked - but I had to promise to take lots of digitals to show her when you get back and I sure will. Dad says "Hi" looking over my shoulder.

Love best wishes for all 3 of you!

Hey Paul and Angela. I hope you've arrived in China safe and sound. It's Saturday morning so one more sleep and you'll have little Maya in your arms. I hope that all goes well for all three of you. Things are going pretty good here in Guangzhou. Most of the babies are really happy and every day gets a little better for everyone. Can't wait to see you in a few days back in Beijing and finally meet little Maya too.

We'll be thinking about you tomorrow. :)
